Happy Anniversary it was...
As much as we would have loved to spend our anniversary in some exotic location, enjoying a relaxing vacation, well, that just wasn't an option. That's not to say we didn't enjoy spending our day together. I took the day off and Mark has the whole month off (much deserved) and we got to sleep in. We went to an afternoon baseball game at the D-Backs stadium. They played the Pittsburgh Pirates (yuck, PA!) and honestly it wasn't a very exciting game and it was really short but we had great seats (8th row) in their awesome indoor, air conditioned stadium where we almost got a couple foul balls (ok, I just ducked but Mark wanted one).
We also got to see Randy Johnson pitch. That guy is 45 years old and still throwing 95 MPH, that's impressive.
For dinner we went to one of my favorite restaurants, although I prefer the Hawaiian locations, it was delicious. They even brought us a strawberry tart with candles and Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. I wished I'd had my camera, sorry! Thanks for a wonderful day of celebration babe! Maybe for our 5th we can take that trip :) I love you forever!

Do you see what I see?

I had another ultrasound on Thursday and was so pleased for the opportunity to get a glimpse of our little guy. The doctor took a couple pictures during the ultrasound and at first I was so frustrated because he's getting so big its hard to tell what's what. After feeling like a horrible mother (already), the doctor helped me see his little features. Can you see his little face in the first picture? How about his little crossed feet in the one below that? I made some diagrams below that really ruin the pictures but after looking at them, see if it helps decipher the pictures above.
All is well thus far. My amniotic fluid is at the bare minimum, but right now all they can do is keep an eye on it. The good news is that he has a very strong healthy heart beat and all his organs are growing just right. The bad news (for me, at least) is that he is so big and strong he is measuring in the 78th percentile, so he is gonna be a BIG baby!! Yikes :) He looks so uncomfortable but at least that makes 2 of us. Basically the update is, all is well, and we can't wait for the little one to arrive. And, no, we have not decided on a name yet! Harder than it sounds :)

It's Over!!!
Finally Mark is finished with the Bar exam. It has been a long couple of months and really stressful couple of days, but what an accomplishment. When Mark was standing on his books (that cost a fortune) he said "This was all in my head!!" Let it out babe, you are done :) Congratulations.
Although the circumstances were far from ideal, we really did have a nice time in Downtown Tuscon(where the Bar was). We stayed at this adorable Bed and Breakfast with 5 other test takers. It was a great relaxing environment for a really stressful time.It was the The Royal Elizabeth and nicknamed "The Liz". It was a fantastic place.
We had the Sydney Marie room which was originally a law office of a local Tuscon attorney back in the day.
Our room had a private enterance to the pool, where I spent all my time totally relaxing.
Jeff and Chuck (the owners/chefs/hosts) made a fantastic gourmet breakfast each morning.I walked a couple blocks and picked up our lunches each day at the cutest little Italian place, Caffe Milano. Delicious!
Thanks Mark for letting me tag along! Maybe we can go back another time and enjoy ourselves under better circumstances.

(Something Mark doesn't need. He's so smart I know he'll do great!!)

Re-Vamped
I finally changed our background after months and months of the same boring thing. Thanks Lyndsie for telling how to make a scrapbook header/title. This one is really simple but I am still figuring it all out. I can't wait until I can put a baby photo in it :)

The Beginning of the End!!
Today I am 26 weeks pregnant and so begins my final trimester of pregnancy!! So far it has begun the same way as the first, this is how I feel...
SO SLEEPY!! I get up, go to work, come home and sleep, wake up for dinner, spend time with my hubby and then right back to sleep. I could get 15 hours of sleep a day and still feel tired. What am I going to do?!?! Get all the sleep I can because in 13 short weeks I won't be sleeping at all. I am so excited for our little boy to come and still have lots of preparations to make :)
Everyone in the family can't wait for the little one either!

Our Fun 4th!!
We have the most fabulous tradition in my family for the week of 4th of July. My grandparents rent a beach house for the week and all the extended family stays together for the week and plays games, watches the fireworks and EATS a lot!! We have so much fun when all the crazy Messick's get together. I was there all week and Mark joined us for the weekend. We had so much fun, here are some pictures for you all to enjoy!!
THE HOUSE:(Unfortunately this will be the last year we get this awesome house, it just sold for an insane amount of money. It's not easy to find a house that sleeps 22)THE BELLY: (for some reason everyone only wanted pictures of my belly, forget about my face, they just wanted the belly. My cousins treated it like a Buddah and rubbed it for good luck)
THE FRIENDS: (our best friends from law school just moved to Southern CA and it was so fun to spend the weekend with them)FAMILY: (I love spending time with my sisters)
THE COUSINS:(not all of them, that'd be a big picture)THE GAMES:(Mark loved getting out and playing football with the boys after being cooped up in a library every day so far this summer)
THE CRAZINESS:(we go through coolers and coolers of soda in a week, maybe that has something to do with it)
THE (FREEZING COLD) WATER: (I was sad I couldn't go in, although it was beyond cold this year)THE FOOD: (At one of my favorite restaurants, Ruby's)
THE LOVE: (I was so happy when Mark finally joined me. We hadn't been apart for this long in over a year)

My Very Own Interior Designer
I took advantage of my sister while she was in town, to help me get some decorating done. She helped me make this incredible, custom headboard for under $100. I absolutely love it! We also had to take advantage of some of Mark's cousins and uncles to get our new sofa in our place. When we first picked up the sofa, Mark and his Uncle Paul spent literally 3 hours trying to get it through the front door. It was not happening. So we left the sofa in the garage for the night. The next day, Uncle Paul returned with 3 cousins and his big truck. Yes, these pictures are real, we had to lift the sofa over the balcony and take off the patio doors to get this thing in.
We had the sofa custom made so there was no returning it, we had no choice, and thanks to everyone's hard work we have a gorgeous, comfortable sofa INSIDE our condo!! I'll post more pictures of our place when the decorating is all done. We are waiting on a few more pieces of furniture :)
A Super Fun Weekend
My sister Aubrey came into town to play with me and we sure had fun!
We turned our tongues blue every day with slurrpies from QT: We went to the temple:
We ate at Oregano's, this super fun local Italian restaurant with REALLY good food: We ate at Cafe Rio (can you believe this is the before shot?):
And then we had to say goodbye (why is it that pregnancy has taken away the ability to take a decent picture?):
