TEARS

This morning when cutting Dallen's fingernails, he moved his hand and I cut his finger. I took a little chunk out of the top and he did bleed. I am not sure who shed more tears, him or me!! I know this is not the first time my little boy is gonna get hurt in his life, so here is my question to all you veteran mothers out there...will my heart ache for him like this every time? Is it just the guilt because I inflicted the pain? Is it because it was the first time? I am just so glad my poor little baby let me comfort him until he felt better.

as for the pain, yes you feel aching when you child gets hurt, but the payoff is making them feel better:)

Oh I'm so sorry! For you and Dallen! And YES your heart will ache and break EVERY time your little one gets hurt. I still can't handle the pain every time Scott shows me another skinned knee! It HURTS ME TOO!
That's the part of being a parent that never goes away! And maybe that is a little reminder of how much our Heavenly Father hurts when we get hurt too!
Love you,

Yes it will always make you feel bad...and there will be more times. I once was walking with Kami in my arms and turned around suddenly and hit her head on the side of the wall. I felt HORRIBLE! But they love you unconditionally, because you are their mom and you do so many great & loving things for them. You are a great mom Jacki!

I did the same thing to Macady, twice. Then I had my friend do it from there on out. I think it is so precious that when we inadvertently hurt our kids or upset them by taking something away from them that they shouldn't have, that they automatically turn to us for comfort, even though we are the ones that upset them. I always think of that when I read the scriptures about how we should be like little children. :)

Awe! We did the same thing when Stone was that age. :(And although I am still new and not a veteran, my heart aches every time he gets hurt, still!

As a real "old" veteran, I can say ditto to all of the comments, Jacki. And you know what? I still hurt whenever one of my own is hurt and I thank Heavenly Father that they are so forgiving when I was that inflicted the pain! Some really "wise" comments here -- we should always remember them. Oh, and I hurt for my grandchildren and great grandchild, too!
Love you all!
