When we bought our new house, we knew it had good bones and great potential. Since it was a short sale, we also knew it would need a lot of work. We are slowly working our way from the bottom to the top. We replaced the carpets and baseboards throughout and painted every last wall and ceiling in all 1700 square feet. We still have SO far to go, but it's a great beginning.
BEFORE
AFTER
To save money on these gorgeous baseboards, we are caulking, sanding and painting them ourselves and we're probably about 40% done. Needless to say, that is still a work in progress but they are maybe my very favorite touch we've added!!
To say that getting our carpet was a major headache would be an understatement. We originally ordered carpet through Home Depot, then they backordered them by a month. So we turned to Mark's cousin who got us an amazing deal. After living for weeks with no carpet, receiving the wrong order the first time, and the delivery truck breaking down the second time, we finally got our beautiful carpet and couldn't be more pleased!
We have SO many projects to tackle and so little time to do it, so you'll have to see things the same way we're doing them, piece by piece. Here's to hoping you get to see another piece real soon!!

Ah! What a relief to see these beautiful freshly painted walls and new carpet with those great baseboards. You must be so happy.
How exciting!! I love your baseboards!! That is something we would love to do in our home, deffinitely in our next.
The carpet is GORGEOUS!!! When we bought our home we had carpet installed too, and it was amazing how the home instantly went from Okay to GORGEOUS over night!
WOW! You guys have done an amazing job! It looks GREAT! I bet you are so very happy!
Ah! The joy of your first home! Some day, I will have to post the story of Grandpa Gerry and my first home in Salt Lake City. It, too was filled with mixed blessings and trials.
In the long run, Jacki, when all is done, you two will look back and marvel at teh work and rejoice in the results.
Keep on "keepin' on!"
You mean you didn't like those "venetian" walls, smelly carpet, and cranberry curtains?
Looks AMAZING Mark and Jacki! Wish I lived closer and could come over and help get everything else finished.
It looks so great! Good job. We totally feel your pain. I've been living mid-project for the last 8 months. What is with those faux finishes. We had those in our house too. They were SO UGLY!
Looks great! Love that carpet. Can't wait to see the rest. :) Love ya!
That room looks great! I love your carpet, and Dallen's haircut! So cute! And Happy (late) Anniversary! You guys are a perfect couple and an adorable family!
LOVE!!!
